(MELVILLE, New York) Vivian Garrastegui, Elder Law Attorney and Partner at Schneider, Garrastegui & Fedele, PLLC, is pleased to announce that she will be speaking at a live online seminar sponsored by the National Business Institute (NBI). The “Elder Law, Medicaid, Veterans Benefits Planning: The Complete New York Guide – Navigate Benefits Coverage, Procedure, and Forms” seminar will be held online on April 18, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Garrastegui will present at 9:00 a.m. and will be discussing “Ensuring Medicaid Eligibility While Preserving Assets.” Included topics are:

Garrastegui was an adjunct professor for graduate studies at Adelphi University and has more than 30 years of experience in the areas of elder law; trusts and estates; Medicaid planning, Medicaid applications, and Medicaid fair hearings; probate and administration proceedings; all phases of contested and uncontested guardianship proceedings.

Garrastegui is an OCA Part 36 list fiduciary and has been appointed as a court examiner, court evaluator, guardian, and attorney for the incapacitated person in guardianship proceedings by the Appellate Division of the First and Second Departments. She is admitted to practice in New York and the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Garrastegui is a member of National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys; and the Suffolk County, New York State, and Nassau County Bar Associations and is a Board member of the Long Island Hispanic Bar Association

Garrastegui earned her B.A. degree, cum laude, from Long Island University and her J.D. degree from Brooklyn Law School. She is also fluent in Spanish.
