Vivian Garrastegui is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School. She has over twenty-eight years of experience in the field of Elder Law; Trusts and Estates; Medicaid planning, Medicaid applications, and Medicaid Fair Hearings; probate and administration proceedings, all phases of contested and uncontested guardianship proceedings; and social security disability.
Ms. Garrastegui is an OCA Part 36 list fiduciary and has been appointed as a Court Examiner, Court Evaluator, Guardian and attorney for the Incapacitated Person in Guardianship proceedings by the Appellate Division of the First and Second Departments. Currently, she has over 100 active court examiner cases throughout Long Island and New York City.
Ms. Garrastegui frequently presents free seminars to the public on various topics including Asset Protection, Medicaid, Special Needs Planning, and Trusts and Estates. She is also a frequent lecturer at continuing legal education programs for colleagues of the Bar.
Ms. Garrastegui meets her clients in her main office in Melville; satellite offices in Hauppauge, Uniondale, Forest Hills, midtown Manhattan; nursing homes and even in the comfort of their own home.
She is admitted in New York and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York
